HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain participates in the Middle East Green Initiative Summit

Riyadh, October 25 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, participated today in the Summit of the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The summit was hosted by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the strategic role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in promoting regional development and environmental protection, and reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to achieving regional and global environmental security.

It’s a commitment reinforced over the past week with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia announcing their intention to reach net zero emissions by 2060.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad welcomed the initiatives taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and others to preserve the natural environment and combat climate change, explaining that this represents a global challenge that requires a unified approach to ensure a prosperous future for all.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad stressed the importance of exchanging knowledge between countries to develop carbon capture and storage technology, reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency, explaining that we all have a collective responsibility to achieve climate security and secure a sustainable future.

His Highness also highlighted the important role of agricultural nurseries in achieving the afforestation goals of the MGI Summit, and Bahrain committed to supporting these efforts, and praised the success of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in organizing and hosting the summit.
