HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister inaugurates Exhibition World Bahrain

Manama, Nov. 21 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, inaugurated today the Bahrain World Expo (EWB) located in Sakhir. .


His Highness highlighted the importance of competitiveness as an essential element in the Kingdom’s economy, which boosted investments, promoted economic progress, and created qualitative opportunities for citizens.


His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad indicated that tourism remains a leading economic sector, adding that the sector’s growth has been a major driver of the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty the King.


His Highness congratulated His Majesty the King on the inauguration of the new, state-of-the-art conference center, noting that this achievement is the culmination of steps taken by the grandfather of the Kingdom, His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the country’s beloved Emir. Al Khalifa and the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister.


His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Bahrain team and its determination to achieve the Kingdom’s broad economic goals, which aim to enhance current and future development endeavors.


His Highness pointed out that the launch of the EWB project is another milestone in the Kingdom’s economic development, stressing its role in enhancing economic competitiveness and positioning the Kingdom as a major global destination for regional and global agreements.


Then a presentation was given, during which His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad was briefed on the EWB halls and amenities, as well as the world-class innovative services that it will provide to users, event organizers and visitors.

For her part, the Minister of Tourism, Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Serafi, expressed her gratitude to His Royal Highness for the continuous support of the tourism sector in the Kingdom, highlighting the Kingdom’s long history of being a destination linking East and West for trade, which has a great impact on trade. It has strengthened its position as a global tourist destination.


His Excellency Al-Serafi indicated that the opening of the Labor and Budget Office reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to expanding development across sectors in line with Bahrain’s sustainable development goals.


EWB is the region’s newest convention and exhibition center, and the largest in the Kingdom of Bahrain. With ten halls, multiple exits and entrances, extensive storage facilities and services, the large capacity of the center will enable it to host a number of events and exhibitions simultaneously, making it an attractive location for local, regional and international exhibitions.


The conference center at EWB features a main hall that can accommodate about four thousand people, and it can be divided into three separate halls equipped with the latest technical services to host international conferences and events. It also consists of a number of other halls for conferences and meetings of medium and small size.
