HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, October 10 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet praised the decision of the United Nations Human Rights Council on the Republic of Yemen, expressing its hope that it would support steps aimed at stabilizing Yemen.

Then the Council of Ministers welcomed the European Union’s decision to add the Kingdom of Bahrain to the list of safe countries in terms of epidemiologically not belonging to the European Union, stressing that this reflects the Kingdom’s distinguished national efforts in combating Covid-19.

The Cabinet expressed its condolences to the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the victims of the earthquake that struck Balochistan.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memoranda with the following results:

Agree to the following notes:

1. The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a memorandum of understanding to continue strengthening cooperation between ministries and agencies related to endowments and Islamic affairs in the GCC countries.

2. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft framework for cooperation in the field of exchanging cybersecurity information for the financial sector between the central banks of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The framework aims to support efforts to enhance cybersecurity and maintain the integrity of the financial and banking sector in the GCC countries.

3. The memorandum of the Minister of Health regarding the development of evaluation and accreditation procedures for public and private hospitals and health centers, which aims to ensure compliance with the approved regulations and standards for services provided to patients. The memorandum contributes to raising the quality and efficiency of health services in the Kingdom. The national accreditation will contribute to establishing a continuous, open and constructive partnership between the National Health Regulatory Authority and health institutions.

4. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to a proposed law submitted by the House of Representatives and a proposed law submitted by the Shura Council.

The Cabinet reviewed the following topics:

1. A memorandum by the Minister of the Shura Council and Parliament Affairs regarding decrees by laws and draft laws submitted by the government and which are under study by the legislative authority during the fourth regular annual session of the fifth legislative term.

The Cabinet reviewed the ministerial reports, including the following: – Participation in the sixty-fifth regular session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The visit of the Libyan Foreign Minister to Bahrain. International cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Libya.
