HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, October 4 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.

The Council of Ministers congratulated the Shura Council and the House of Representatives for issuing Royal Order No. 35 of 2021 by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, inviting the bicameral Parliament to resume its sessions. The Council of Ministers expressed its keenness to enhance cooperation and bilateral partnership between the two bodies in order to advance the development process in the Kingdom for the benefit of its citizens and national goals.

On the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, the Council of Ministers commended all teachers for their appreciated contributions in enhancing the educational achievements of the Kingdom, and highlighting their pivotal role as one of the pillars of developing the education sector in the Kingdom.

The Council of Ministers decided to amend the day of its weekly meetings to Sunday instead of Monday for the next four sessions. This step comes to ensure the continuation of the discussion and the decision-making process regarding the work and projects of government agencies, given that the date of the periodic meeting coincides with official holidays and international participation.

The Cabinet congratulated the UAE on the successful opening of Expo 2020 Dubai, wishing them continued success.

The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman in the wake of the devastating effects of tropical cyclone Shaheen.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memoranda with the following results:

Agree to the following notes:

1 – A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decree on the Higher Committee for Energy and Natural Resources to assume the duties of the Supreme Oil Council, and assign the National Oil and Gas Holding Company to form the Board of Directors. Members of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Petroleum Company and the appointment of the company’s management.

2 – Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, which aims to enhance cooperation in technical fields. Assistance, capacity building and human rights promotion programs.

3- The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a memorandum of understanding on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the National Cybersecurity Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the protection of cyberspace through the exchange of information and the exchange of experiences and practices. .

4- Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Education and Training Quality Authority and the Commonwealth Council for Educational and Regulatory Administration in the United Kingdom, which aims to enhance cooperation in the areas of research, capacity building and quality assurance in educational administration.

5. A memorandum from the Minister of Finance and National Economy and the Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning related to the involvement of the private sector in the implementation of service projects in a way that contributes to accelerating the completion of projects and promoting the use of the Municipal Joint Resources Fund to finance other service projects.
