HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, February 14 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, and the people of Bahrain after the twenty-first anniversary of the adoption of the National Action Charter.

The Cabinet noted the kingdom’s many achievements thanks to the charter, which stimulated economic growth and political development.

His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister ordered the implementation of His Majesty’s directives to provide housing services to eligible applicants, families of prisoners and beneficiaries of the Alternative Sentences Program, with the aim of preserving family relations and strengthening the social fabric. The kingdom. This will maximize the success of this pilot programme, including the assessment of prisoner behaviour.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memoranda, including the following results:

Agree to the following notes:

1. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decision regulating entry and residence visas for Bahraini foreign relatives and spouses.

2 – The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and the Financial Budget regarding the preliminary financial results for the fiscal year 2021. The memorandum specified the increase in the total public revenues for the year compared to the actual results for the year 2020 with non-oil. Increase revenue by 5%. The results confirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to implementing government projects that support economic recovery, and revealed a 35% decrease in the fiscal deficit in 2021, compared to the actual results of 2020.

3. A memorandum by the Minister of Health regarding the establishment and formation of the Bahrain Council for Health Studies and Specialties. The council supervises the establishment and evaluation of health training programs and their preparation for obtaining international certificates. The council also supervises the evaluation of professional certificates in various health disciplines, national health programs, and the establishment of specialized training programs.

4. A memorandum by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism regarding a draft decision banning the use of single-use plastic bags, which supports the Kingdom’s adoption of environmental protection initiatives.

5. The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to 3 proposals submitted by the House of Representatives.
