HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, December 6 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet referred to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa. Saud’s attendance at the first edition of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia, which was held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Cabinet congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its successful hosting of an important and eventful international race, and commended the efforts of Bahraini motorsports affiliates in supporting their Saudi counterparts in organizing this important global sporting event.

The Cabinet noted the inauguration of Muharraq Grand Park under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Then the Council of Ministers directed the continuous implementation of development projects for the Kingdom to achieve the aspirations of citizens in line with the priorities and programs of the economic recovery plan.

The Council of Ministers noted the discussion that took place with the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, and the delegation of the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to take appropriate measures regarding a draft law to amend some provisions related to social insurance. Supporting low-income families.

In appreciation of the International Anti-Corruption Day, the Cabinet stressed the importance of strengthening oversight and adopting initiatives to consolidate transparency and accountability across government work streams, and achieve the Kingdom’s development goals. The Cabinet expressed its thanks to the Ministry of Interior for its efforts in combating corruption.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed a number of memoranda with the following results:

Agree to the following notes:

1- A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft law amending some provisions of the decree-law regarding decorations.

The amendments aim to achieve the royal directives of His Majesty the King, by introducing two police medals to be awarded to officers for outstanding performance in which they demonstrated courage and valor and performed their duties honestly and faithfully.

2- A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft law naming the Minister of Finance and National Economy in his capacity as the minister responsible for carrying out the duties of the shareholder in Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat).

3- The memorandum of the Minister of Interior regarding the continuation of the digitization of the services provided by the Ministry and its various agencies by issuing a certificate of good conduct electronically.

4- A memorandum by the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the ten-year strategic plan of the ministry, which focuses on 15 points to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s foreign policy, its effective diplomacy, and its future direction to enhance the Kingdom’s march. Regional and international standing.

The Cabinet reviewed the following topics:

1- The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance on the strategy of the manufacturing sector for the years 2022-2026, which consists of 5 main axes, and includes 23 projects to increase the contribution of the manufacturing sector to the GDP and increase Bahraini industrial exports.

Then the Council of Ministers took note of the ministerial reports related to the following: the official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the opening of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Dubai, Bahrain’s participation in the Special Session of the World Health Assembly (WHA), the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit at Expo 2020 Dubai, the twenty-fourth session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization, as well as the 114th and 115th meetings of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization.
