HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly cabinet meeting

Manama, April 25 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.


The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, and the citizens of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al Fitr.


His Royal Highness directed the Civil Service Commission to transfer surplus annual leave to frontline health professionals and other support staff. The office also directed the transfer of the annual leave surplus to employees whose annual leave balance exceeded 75 days on December 31, 2021.


And in celebration of Bahrain Press Day and World Press Freedom Day, the Cabinet wished media professionals and journalists success, and highlighted the effective role of the media in supporting the Kingdom’s national development.


On the occasion of Labor Day, the Council of Ministers emphasized the dedication of the Kingdom’s workforce and its contribution to Bahrain’s successful achievements, which increased its attractiveness to employers.


During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memoranda with the following results:


Agree to the following notes:


1. A memorandum from the Civil Service Bureau regarding the restructuring and development of the work of many government agencies to raise their efficiency and improve their performance.


2. The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance regarding the Kingdom’s contribution to many international organizations to enhance expertise in the humanitarian, training, vocational and labor fields.

3. A memorandum by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism on the inclusion of the Arab Republic of Egypt to 14 countries listed as partners in the air and sea freight service in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Companies located in these countries are allowed to apply for accreditation as operators of these services.


4. The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to 4 proposals and a proposed law submitted by the House of Representatives.


The Cabinet reviewed the following topics:


1. A memorandum from the Governmental Executive Committee on updating the framework of government priorities 3.1 and what has been implemented to achieve financial sustainability and support the investment environment in the Kingdom.


The Cabinet took note of the report of the Minister of Finance and National Economy regarding his participation in the Spring Meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
