HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired today the weekly cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.


The Cabinet highlighted the importance of the talks that took place between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of the State of Israel, His Excellency Isaac Herzog, in strengthening bilateral relations and supporting common aspirations, including the common goal of strengthening regional and global relations. International peace and sustainable development.


The Cabinet affirmed the initiatives led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, in empowering Bahraini women. In this regard, the Cabinet congratulated the winners of the Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa International Award for Women’s Empowerment, as well as the winners of the seventh session of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for the Advancement of Bahraini Women.


The Cabinet reviewed the developments that took place to prepare the government program 2023-2026, as the Cabinet indicated the importance of basing the new program on the outputs of future aspirations workshops, to ensure the adoption of best practices in various government services. Moreover, the Cabinet affirmed its commitment to increase cooperation with the legislative authority in order to improve the conditions of Bahrain and its citizens.


On the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day, the Cabinet praised the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in combating corruption. In this regard, the Cabinet indicated the importance of adhering to the values ​​of transparency, accountability and responsibility across government work streams to protect public funds.

And in light of the report of His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding the topics of discussion for the forty-third session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council, the Cabinet expressed its sincere wishes for success for the session.


The Council of Ministers followed up the memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance regarding the Kingdom’s main tourism indicators for the third quarter of 2022.


The memorandum indicated that the total tourism revenues during this period amounted to 1.2 billion Bahraini dinars, representing 110% and exceeding the target set in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s new tourism strategy 2022-2026, which falls within the framework of the economic recovery plan.


The note also revealed that the average daily expenditure of visitors and the average length of their stay exceeded the set targets.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memorandums with the following results:

The Cabinet reviewed the memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance regarding the most important developments in the consumer price index, which reflected the efforts made to address the impact on energy supplies and commodity prices as a result of global developments.


The Cabinet also reviewed the memorandum of the Minister of Health regarding the developments that took place after the inauguration of primary health care centers around the clock, which showed a significant decrease in the number of cases referred to the emergency department in public hospitals.

The memorandum also dealt with developments in the project of self-management of primary health care centers, which aims to enhance the efficiency of health care services.

The Cabinet approved the memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding memorandums of understanding between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two kingdoms.


Then the Cabinet reviewed the ministerial reports on the visit of the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Transport and Communications to the United Arab Emirates, and the participation in the 38th Ministerial Meeting of the COMCEC and the 22nd World Summit of the Travel and Tourism Council. , and a schedule of Kingdom events from December 2022 to March 2023.
