Sharm El-Sheikh, November 7 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attended today the second edition of the Middle East Green Initiative summit, co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Arab Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Saudi Green Initiative, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
The Green Middle East Initiative, in its second edition, is being held in conjunction with the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2022 (COP27), in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
During the visit, His Highness stressed the importance of coordinated international action to face the challenges of climate change. By harnessing capabilities, intensifying efforts and strengthening cooperation.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman pointed out the important role that environmental protection must play in ensuring the sustainability of resources and providing opportunities for a healthy lifestyle for current and future generations.
His Highness praised the prominent role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in launching large-scale initiatives that promote the growth and development of the region.
His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister commended the comprehensive regional work on climate change, such as the Middle East Green Initiative and the Saudi Green Initiative launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, both of which aim to enhance cooperation on climate change and accelerate the transition towards a green and sustainable economy.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full support for these initiatives, in line with the visions and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
His Royal Highness praised Saudi Arabia’s leadership in green initiatives and advancing regional development.
In this regard, His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to intensifying its efforts to reach carbon neutrality by 2060, through a set of innovative policies and programmes.
His Highness expressed his best wishes for the success of the Saudi Green Initiative and the Green Middle East Initiative in supporting the region’s progress towards sustainable green goals.
