HRH Princess Sabeeka receives First Lady of Maldive Islands

Manama, October 6 (BNA) Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, received the First Lady of the Maldives Fazna Ahmed, as part of her visit to the Maldives. The kingdom accompanies her husband, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

HRH Princess Sabeeka affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the Republic of Maldives in development issues. She indicated the leadership’s keenness to further strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.

Her Royal Highness noted the key role of the First Lady of the Maldives, Fazna Ahmed, in empowering Maldivian women, facilitating their access to leadership positions and enhancing their participation in the economic and social field.

For her part, the First Lady of the Maldives thanked Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka for the warm welcome and hospitality, praising the Bahraini experience in empowering Bahraini women. She expressed her keenness to benefit from the results of the visit to strengthen relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Maldives and to exchange the best experiences related to the advancement of women.
