HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa opens revamped Water garden

Manama, Jan. 16 (BNA): Today, the iconic water park development project was officially inaugurated in Manama. After undergoing a major development process.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and Chair of the Shura Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NAID), inaugurated the renovated garden.

“This public park, established in 1948, is linked to the national memory as a heritage facility, recreational outlet and tourist destination,” she said.

She praised the national efforts to expand agricultural and green areas in proportion to the urban areas in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

She praised the government’s efforts in establishing gardens and parks, preserving plant wealth and natural reserves as part of strategies to ensure the sustainability of the development of the agricultural sector.

She referred to the directives of His Majesty the King, which are being implemented by the government headed by His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to develop the agricultural sector as one of the tributaries of the national economy.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa praised the completion of the project aimed at restoring one of the most prominent landmarks of the water park.

She praised the efforts made by public and private sector institutions to implement development plans, renovate this distinctive landmark, and expand green spaces as part of the project.

Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak addressed the ceremony, expressing his thanks and gratitude to Her Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa for the opening of the renovated water park.

He highlighted plans to develop public gardens, parks and recreational facilities, in light of the comprehensive development led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Al-Mubarak praised everyone who contributed to the completion and development of this project, including ministries, government institutions, the Capital Municipality Council and the National Initiative for Agricultural Development.

He also thanked the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) for managing the maintenance operations of the park and its facilities after its inauguration today.
