Housing Minister praises Bahrain’s sustainable housing cities

Manama, October 31 (BNA) The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, highlighted the Kingdom’s experience in building sustainable residential cities that have won international and regional recognition on the occasion of World Cities Day.

The minister said that Bahrain is one of the leading countries in the region through the establishment of eight sustainable residential cities in the various governorates of the Kingdom.

She said that the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is constructing and providing 40,000 housing units in five modern cities, namely Madinat Salman, Madinat Khalifa, East Al Hidd, East Sitra and Ramli. .

Al-Rumaihi said that the occasion of World Cities Day is also an opportunity to highlight the Kingdom’s participation in the international community in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, especially the eleventh goal, which aspires to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe and sustainable.
