HM King sends message to Pope Francis

Rome, November 25 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a written message to Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican.

The message presented by His Majesty’s Adviser for Diplomatic Affairs, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, included an official invitation to Pope Francis to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This came as Pope Francis received, today, in the Vatican, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who conveyed to him the greetings of His Majesty the King, and His Majesty’s wishes for good health and wellness.

Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed expressed His Majesty King Hamad’s appreciation for the pivotal and prominent role played by Pope Francis in establishing and promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding between different cultures and civilizations, as well as in spreading the values ​​of human brotherhood and coexistence among all.

His Majesty affirmed His Majesty’s support for the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Coexistence and the lofty principles it contains, stressing the importance of building on that document to ensure a more prosperous future for all mankind.

Pope Francis asked Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed to convey his greetings to His Majesty King Hamad, and sincere thanks to him for his kind invitation to visit the kingdom he loves and appreciates.

Pope Francis affirmed that the invitation embodies Bahrain’s position as a role model for openness and coexistence among all its social strata.

He expressed his appreciation for the wisdom of His Majesty the King and his constant keenness to promote a culture of dialogue and tolerance, praising His Majesty’s initiatives aimed at consolidating and spreading the principles of coexistence and brotherhood among all countries and peoples.
