Manama, November 8 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received today at Sakhir Palace Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Muharraq Club, members of the Board of Directors, the football team, technicians and technicians. The administrative body, on the occasion of the club winning the AFC Cup for the second time in its history.
His Majesty the King congratulated them on this honorable achievement, praising the team’s excellent performance throughout the tournament. He praised the efforts of the technical and administrative staff, wishing the club more success in the upcoming tournaments.
His Majesty stressed that Muharraq Club is one of the oldest clubs in Bahrain and the Arab Gulf region, pointing to its record of achievements. He also praised the support shown by the team from the club’s fans, who played a key role in achieving the achievement. He directed the production of a documentary film on the club’s history and achievements, affirming its support for all efforts aimed at serving Bahrain in various fields.
His Majesty the King praised the tireless efforts of His Majesty’s Personal Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and President. From the General Sports Authority and the President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the development of football and the sports sector in the Kingdom.
For his part, Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, on behalf of the Muharraq Club Board of Directors, affiliates and supporters, expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for the meeting that followed the club’s crowning of the AFC Cup.
He praised the royal support for the club and the sports movement in the Kingdom. He explained that the Muharraq Football Club team has won the 83rd championship at the local and international levels since its inception in 1928.
