Manama, November 15 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received today at Al Sufiya Palace a delegation from the Aladdin Project headed by the founder of the project, Baron Eric de Rothschild, and Dr. Lea Bessar, the project leader. . The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of France to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Jerome Cochard.
His Majesty the King welcomed the delegation and reviewed with them a number of initiatives aimed at promoting tolerance and peace among people. His Majesty the King expressed his appreciation for Bahrain’s cultural and historical heritage, which made it a model of tolerance and coexistence.
His Majesty stressed the Kingdom’s continued efforts to promote moderation and dialogue between cultures for the benefit of humanity. He praised the important role of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence in achieving these noble goals. He also expressed Bahrain’s support for the role of the United National Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which oversees the Aladdin project in building bridges of rapprochement and communication between different religions and civilizations.
