HM King ratifies, promulgates Law (18) of 2022

Manama, May 15 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today ratified Law No. (18) of 2022 amending Article (231) of the Penal Code promulgated by Decree-Law No. (15) of 1976 and promulgated it, after approval. By the Shura and Representatives Councils.

According to the law, Article (231) of Law (15) of 1976 is amended as follows:

“A person who, in the course of a medical or health practice, examines a dead person or provides first aid to a seriously injured person with signs of death or injury resulting from a felony or misdemeanor, or in the case of other circumstances that make its cause suspicious, shall be punished with imprisonment and/or a fine, The public authority is not informed of this.”

The Prime Minister and the ministers – each within his jurisdiction – shall implement the provisions of this law, and it shall come into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
