Manama, Jan. 31 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today issued Decree No. (7) of 2023 to reconfigure the Ministry of Foreign Affairs based on the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and after the approval of the Council of Ministers.
According to the decree, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was restructured as follows:
The Minister of Foreign Affairs oversees:
First: Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, with the rank of Assistant Undersecretary, with specialization in the following:
1- Head of the Legal Affairs Sector.
2- Head of the Human Rights Affairs Sector.
Second: Head of the Strategic Affairs Sector
Third: Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the rank of Assistant Undersecretary, with specialization in the following:
1- Chief of Protocol
2- Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector
Fourth: Head of the Communications Sector
Fifth: Director of the Institutional Development Department.
Sixth: Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, in charge of:
1- Directorate of Training and Languages
2- Directorate of Academic Affairs
3- Directorate of Studies and Evaluation
Seventh: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, in charge of the following:
1- Head of the Asia and Pacific Affairs Sector
2- Head of the Arab and African Affairs Sector
3- Head of the Gulf Cooperation Council Affairs Sector
4- Head of the Orbit Center
5- Head of the European Affairs Sector
6- Head of the Americas Affairs Sector
7- Head of the organizations sector
Eighth: Undersecretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs, with specialization in the following:
1- Directorate of Administrative Affairs
2- Directorate of the Consular Services Sector
3- Directorate of Planning and Projects
4- Directorate of Financial Resources
5- Directorate of Human Resources
6- Directorate of Information Systems
Decree No. (23) of 2021 restructuring the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is repealed.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs shall implement the provisions of this decree, and it shall come into force immediately and be published in the Official Gazette.
