HM King issues decree (2) of 2023, forming HEC Board of Trustees

Manama, Jan. 5 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today issued Royal Decree No. (2) of 2023 to form the Board of Trustees of the Council of Higher Education for a four-year renewable term based on a proposal by the Prime Minister and after approval by the Council of Ministers.

According to the decree, the Board of Trustees of the Supreme Elections Committee is chaired by the Minister of Education, and consists of the following members:

1- Secretary General of the Supreme Elections Committee (Deputy Chairman).


2- Chief Executive Officer of the Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA).


3- Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board.


4- CEO of the Labor Fund (Tamkeen).


5- Chief Executive Officer of the Education and Training Authority.


6- Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Registration and Companies at the Ministry of Industry and Trade


7- Director General of Organization and Budget at the Civil Service Bureau.


8- President of the Arabian Gulf University


9- CEO of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)


The Prime Minister and the Minister – each within his jurisdiction – shall implement the provisions of this decree, and it shall come into effect immediately, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
