His Highness Sheikh Nasser made these statements while receiving here today the Minister of Transport and Communications, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Chairman of the National Space Science Authority Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, the CEO of the Authority, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Asiri, and the Bahrain Space Team. It includes a group of youth competencies affiliated with the National Social Security Authority who contributed to the implementation of the satellite project.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the outstanding achievement, which comes in line with His Majesty King Hamad’s medical vision and directives to develop efforts in the field of space sciences and other sciences to keep pace with the requirements of the present and the future by strengthening national capabilities. His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the tremendous efforts made by the National Social Security Authority to implement the project, which confirms the capabilities of Bahraini youth in various fields and patriotism and their determination to achieve everything that would enhance the Kingdom’s status and scientific progress.

The Minister of Transport expressed his sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Nasser for his interest and firm support for the National Space Agency’s strategy 2019-2023, in order to achieve the vision of His Majesty the King in developing national capabilities and competencies in the field of space science.
The minister stressed that the authority will continue to implement a number of initiatives that will be announced in the coming period, the most important of which is a full Bahraini satellite during the next two years.
The head of the authority expressed his pride in the historic national project, which is a fruitful outcome of the leadership of His Majesty the King, the cornerstone of the authority’s work, noting that the competencies of Bahraini youth are distinguished in various engineering fields, and are able to compete in the field of space at the state level. international level.
He said that the nano-satellite will monitor and study terrestrial gamma-ray flashes by developing and building two payload detectors, using a combination of two different technologies for the image sensor and sparkling crystals, reflecting Bahrain’s contributions to international efforts to measure these rays and study their effects. On the safety of aircraft structures and the safety of passengers, which will put the Kingdom in the list of countries competing for leadership in space science, in line with the vision of His Majesty the King in this regard.
The NSSA youth team carried out their assignments within the project while they were studying at Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research in the United Arab Emirates.
