Manama, Dec. 4 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. In Gudaibiya Palace today.
His Majesty the King welcomed the Israeli President, expressing his hope that the visit would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.
An official reception was held for President Herzog and the national anthems of the two countries were played.
After that, His Majesty the King held official talks with the Israeli President, in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister.
His Majesty the King delivered the following speech:

Peace, mercy and blessings of God ,
We welcome His Excellency the President and the delegation accompanying you during your visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and we are confident that this visit will have an important role in consolidating the relations between our two countries, and supporting our common aspirations to consolidate them. Peace and sustainable development in the region and the world, and it represents an opportunity for you to witness the beauty of religious and cultural diversity in our country, and the spirit of friendliness, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among all members of our honorable society. Religions and races confirm our belief in the values of peace, brotherhood and cooperation among human beings.
We value and appreciate the developments witnessed in the relations between our two countries, since the signing of the Abraham Accords and the Declaration of Support for Peace, which opens broader horizons for spreading the culture of peace and enhancing security, stability and peace in the region. “Your Majesty,
This is an amazing moment, and I am proud to be here in the Kingdom of Bahrain. You are at the forefront of making history in the region where Jews and Muslims meet and advance together peacefully. It’s a long process, but it’s not just a dream. As we can see now, our two countries meet for peace. The Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel are pioneers in achieving this goal, and they agree with the rest of the countries that seek to achieve this. This is in the interest of our two countries and peoples, and in the interest of the countries and peoples of the region and the world as a whole.
Your Majesty,
I am in the Kingdom of Bahrain, accompanied by a delegation that includes elite representatives of the economic and commercial sectors in Israel. His Majesty King Hamad and President Herzog discussed Bahraini-Israeli relations, and ways to expand bilateral cooperation to serve common interests and enhance joint efforts to achieve security, stability and prosperity for the countries and peoples of the region.
The talks between the two sides focused on ways to enhance cooperation in the economic, trade, investment, scientific, technical, health, educational, youth, tourism and cultural fields.
They also discussed ways to encourage communication between representatives of the private sector in the two countries, and exchange visits of official delegations that will contribute to increasing the volume of bilateral trade exchange in the best interest of both sides.
They also stressed the importance of activating the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries in vital areas of common interest, as well as strengthening the role of the joint economic committees in advancing bilateral economic and trade cooperation to serve common interests.
His Majesty King Hamad and President Herzog affirmed that the Abraham Agreement and the Declaration of Support for Peace signed between the two countries embody their keenness to promote the values of peace, coexistence and brotherhood, promote tolerance and coexistence between religions and beliefs, and consolidate joint action for the sake of building peace. Constructive and fruitful relations of cooperation that lead to achieving good, development, stability and prosperity for the benefit of the peoples of the region and their interests.
His Majesty King Hamad and the Israeli President, while reviewing the latest regional and global challenges, stressed the need to continue making more efforts to confront regional challenges, protect the security and stability of the region, and intensify efforts to establish lasting peace and coexistence based on it. Trust and mutual respect, combating terrorism, extremism and violence for the benefit of the peoples of the region and the world.
The Israeli President expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for the warm reception and generous hospitality.
He also expressed his appreciation for His Majesty King Hamad’s efforts to promote the values of peace, tolerance and coexistence between religions and beliefs, and to consolidate dialogue between religions and cultures, praising the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican. He said that the Kingdom reflects Bahrain’s distinguished position at the global level.
His Majesty the King held a luncheon in honor of the Israeli President and his accompanying delegation.
A convoy of honor was formed, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to accompany the Israeli President during his stay in Bahrain.
