Cairo, September 16 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held a meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh today with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance the historical brotherly relations between the two countries and regional and international issues of common interest.
His Majesty the King expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian President for his invitation to visit the Arab Republic of Egypt and for the warm welcome and hospitality.
He praised the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and their steady growth thanks to the joint keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation on various issues.
His Majesty the King praised the great development strides that Egypt has witnessed under the leadership of President Sisi, describing it as an inspiring experience in achieving sustainable growth.
He renewed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s solidarity with Egypt and Sudan and its support for all steps aimed at protecting their legitimate rights and water security in the Nile River.
He affirmed the Kingdom’s support for all efforts aimed at reaching a binding agreement to resolve the issue of the Renaissance Dam and preserve Egypt’s right to its water share in the Nile River.
His Majesty and the Egyptian President stressed the importance of joint cooperation to promote peace in the Middle East and to provide a just, lasting and comprehensive solution between Palestinians and Israelis in accordance with the two-state solution.
They also affirmed their support for the Saudi initiative to stop the war in Yemen and reach a political solution to the crisis there.
His Majesty the King pointed to Bahrain’s interest in the ongoing developments in Afghanistan, stressing the importance of achieving peace and stability for the Afghan people, referring to the Kingdom’s efforts to provide urgent relief and humanitarian aid in Afghanistan.
His Majesty the King extended an invitation to the Egyptian President to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain, and it was accepted with thanks, and the date will be set at a later time.
For his part, the Egyptian president praised the King’s visit to Egypt, praising his keenness to further strengthen the brotherly relations between the two countries.
He also praised the stances of His Majesty the King, stressing Egypt’s appreciation for its distinguished relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
