HM King attends International Endurance Race of Fontainebleau in France

Fontainebleau, October 14 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa participated today in the international endurance race of Fontainebleau in France.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, leader of the Royal Endurance Team, participated in the race, in the presence of the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, General for Sports. Chairman of the Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The Royal Endurance Team, led by His Highness Sheikh Nasser, won the 160km and 127km international endurance races at Fontainebleau. The positive results add to the team’s outstanding achievements after His Highness Sheikh Nasser’s victory during the FEI Endurance Championship for eight-year-old horses in Spain.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his pride in His Majesty’s keenness to follow the race and the success of the Royal Endurance Team in winning the two races.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser stressed that the positive results of the Royal Endurance Team are a fruitful outcome of the unwavering support that endurance sports enjoy from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. .


His Highness Sheikh Nasser praised the outstanding performance of the Bahraini jockeys during today’s competitions, praising the jockey Abdul Rahman Al-Zayed for winning the 160 km race, and the jockey Mayouf Al Rumaihi for winning the 127 km race.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser stressed that the results of the Royal Endurance Team confirm that it is on the right path towards continuing its dominance in European races.

His Highness Sheikh Nasser participated in the 160 km race and led it during the first five stages, but he did not continue because his horse did not pass the veterinary test before the sixth and final stage.

The Royal Endurance Team will participate in the 120 km races for adults and juniors, which are scheduled to be held tomorrow.
