HM King attends GCC Summit open session

Riyadh, December 14 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa attended the opening session of the 42nd sessionsecond abbreviation Summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, presided over the opening session and delivered a speech at the Diriyah Palace in Riyadh.

His Majesty the King also delivered a speech wishing the current session headed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia success, and praised the results of the visits of the Saudi Crown Prince to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which paved the way for the summit and reflected the role led by Saudi Arabia. He stressed the importance of the Al-Ula Declaration, which stipulated the implementation of the vision set by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, through a clear timetable and keen follow-up of bilateral work between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to reach a settlement. He stressed the need to complete the requirements of the economic unit, joint development programs, defense and security systems, and coordination of positions to enhance solidarity, stability and unity of the GCC states towards strengthening their regional role in cooperation with international organizations.
