Manama, October 23 (BNA) The Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council and Vice-Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Dr. Sheikha Rana bint Daij Al Khalifa, held a virtual meeting today with the Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council. The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) Sheikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa.
Dr. Sheikha Rana praised the launch of the national afforestation campaign “Forever Green”, in line with the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Nyad Advisory Council, stressing her keenness for the General Secretariat of the Supreme Elections Committee to cooperate with Nyad and provide the necessary support to implement The initiative aimed at increasing green spaces in Bahrain and achieving sustainable development goals.
Dr. Sheikha Rana said that higher education institutions will participate in the national campaign based on their role in community partnership, wishing the campaign success.
Sheikha Maram reviewed the reasons for launching the “Forever Green” campaign, and the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka in promoting the agricultural sector.
She indicated that 27 sites were selected in the governorates of the Kingdom to implement the campaign, in cooperation with the Municipal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and the Supreme Council for the Environment.
