Higher Education Council Secretary General meets with UNESCO former Director General

Geneva, October 2, (BNA) The Secretary-General and Vice-President of the Higher Education Council met Dr. Sheikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the University of Peace (UPEACE) and the former Director-General of the Higher Education Council. UNESCO Irina Bokova.

She commended the efforts of the former Director-General of UNESCO for being the first woman to hold this position, wishing her every success.

The Secretary General of the Council of Higher Education and the Chairman of the UPEACE Board of Trustees exchanged congratulations on the latter’s nomination to chair the UPEACE Board of Trustees in the next session, and Dr. Sheikha Rana receiving an honorary doctorate from UPEACE University.

The two sides discussed enhancing cooperation between universities in Bahrain and UPEACE University to exchange experiences.
