HH Shaikh Khalid visits Bahraini football team ahead of Arabian Gulf Cup

Manama, Jan. 3 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, stressed the importance of continuing to enhance the honorable reputation of Bahraini football in the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup.

The Iraqi city of Basra will host the cup from January 6 to 19, and Bahrain will defend the title it won for the first time in the last edition.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid had attended the last training of the team before their departure to Iraq and conveyed the greetings and wishes of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Sheikh Nasser. His Highness Sheikh Khaled urged the players to do their best to defend their title and admire their skills, dedication and perseverance.
