Health Minister receives Gulf CDC delegation

Manama, June 4 (BNA): Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassad, stressed the great role played by the Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Gulf CDC) in promoting health cooperation among the GCC countries. countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council).

She highlighted the center’s role in achieving common Gulf goals, including following up on regional and global developments related to disease control, and raising the level of integration and information exchange between the Gulf health sectors to achieve common aspirations.

This came during the minister’s speech during his meeting here today with Dr. Basi Pantinen, Executive Director of the Gulf Center for Disease Control, and his accompanying delegation, who are visiting the Kingdom.

The minister praised the efforts made by the Gulf Center for Disease Control and Prevention to implement plans and strategies and to enhance Gulf cooperation and coordination to provide a database and qualified competencies in the field of epidemiological surveillance and to enhance disease prevention and control.

The two sides reviewed issues of common interest, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation with the Gulf Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the fields of training and information exchange, as well as in attracting expertise and supporting research and medical studies.

Dr. Basi Pantinen and the accompanying delegation expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Minister and all employees of the Ministry of Health.

They praised the advanced level of cooperation of the Bahraini Ministry of Health with the Gulf Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
