Harry and Meghan visit UN amid world leaders’ meeting

New York, September 25 (BNA) British Prince Harry and Megan, the Duchess of Sussex, met on Saturday with a senior official at the United Nations, amid the organization’s largest gathering this year.

Members of the royal family came to the United Nations headquarters to speak with Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed. The three were due to appear later Saturday at the Global Citizen party in New York’s Central Park, according to the Associated Press.

She and Harry prepare to push for equality in the polls during the star-studded 24-hour concert. It features shows that have been staged in locations from New York to Paris to Lagos, Nigeria, and Seoul, South Korea.

The United Nations is in the midst of the annual meeting of the General Assembly of world leaders, although the couple did not participate in the speeches in the assembly hall.

A former co-founder of UN Women, Meghan Markle became an “advocate for political participation and leadership” several years ago. Harry visited children’s agency UNICEF in New York in 2010.
