Gulf Air signs enhanced MoU with RAK International Airport

Dubai, November 15 / BNA / Gulf Air, the Bahraini national carrier, has signed an enhanced Memorandum of Understanding with Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (Ras Al Khaimah International Airport), based on the original Memorandum of Understanding that was signed earlier this year between the two countries. The two entities that aim to build the link between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and Bahrain.

The enhanced MoU will see Gulf Air connect to Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and Bahrain International Airport (BIA) with two weekly flights with views of converting direct flights into a year-round scheduled service between the two airports.

The MoU will also provide opportunities to expand on a larger scale to connect Ras Al Khaimah outside Bahrain with the regional and international destinations of Gulf Air’s global network.

The signing ceremony took place at the Dubai Airshow in the presence of both companies, represented by Zayed Rashid Al Zayani, Chairman of Gulf Air, and Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Civil Aviation in Ras Al Khaimah, Gulf. Acting Chief Executive Officer Captain Walid Al Alawi and Chief Executive Officer of Ras Al Khaimah Atanasios Tetonis including members of the Executive Management from both sides.

This MoU will expand the airspace of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport by offering multiple destinations from east to west on a full year basis. It is a great development to meet the needs of commuters and international travelers. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi said that the aim of this agreement is to explore potential services between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
