Gulf Air begins services to Milan

Manama, June 16 (BNA) Bahrain’s Gulf Air, the national carrier, has started its services to Milan.


The first flight left Bahrain International Airport (BIA) on 1 June, opening the company’s direct and indirect operations to Italy’s second largest city.

Gulf Air held a festive lunch in Milan, which was attended by

Bahrain’s Ambassador to Italy Dr. Nasser Al Balushi, Paola Amadi, Italy’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Andrea Tucci Head of Aviation Business Development at SEA – Milan Airport.


The luncheon also included representatives from trade and travel and members of the media.

Milan is one of the largest financial and commercial centers in the European Union and the world. From finance to fashion, from designer cars to premium music, from architecture to art; Gulf Air Acting CEO, Captain Walid Al Alawi, said that Milan is undoubtedly one of the most popular destinations in Europe that attracts millions of visitors every year.


“By launching our services to Milan, we are not only opening new doors to the trade and tourism that this city provides to people and businesses in Bahrain and the region; but also bringing new business and other opportunities to Bahrain, the gateway to the Arabian Gulf and beyond.”


Captain Al Alawi thanked the attendees for their support for the expansion of Gulf Air in Italy, praising their efforts in inaugurating the new line.

Milan is the capital of the Lombardy region and the province of Milan. A cosmopolitan and cosmopolitan city, the city remains one of Europe’s major transport and industrial centers, and Milan is one of the most important business centers in the European Union, and is among the leading financial centers in Western Europe in 2022.
