Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Officer meets with counterparts during IATA AGM event


Manama, June 20 (BNA) The Acting CEO of Gulf Air, Captain Walid Al-Alawi, met with a number of his counterparts in the aviation industry during the annual general assembly meeting held by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Doha, Qatar. The upper captain was accompanied by members of the aviation executive management.

Captain Al Alawi held a number of fruitful meetings with Boeing President and CEO Mr. Stanley Dell and Senior Vice President Mr. Ihssan Mounir, CEO of Thai Airways Mr. Suvadana Sibon Rang, CEO of EgyptAir Captain Amr Aboul-Enein, Managing Director and CEO of Kenya Airways Group Mr. Alan Kelavuka, and Mr. Lee Siu Hyang, CEO of Changi Airport. The meetings were held to explore ways of joint cooperation, discuss future strategic partnerships, and exchange visions on the current state of the aviation industry.

Founded in 1945, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is a trade association of global airlines, representing about 290 airlines or 83% of all air traffic. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) supports many areas of aviation activity and helps formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues. This year marks the 78th edition of the IATA AGM; A major aviation event that brings together senior leadership from airlines, the aviation value chain and governments as the aviation industry faces complex and dynamic operational, commercial and geopolitical environments.
