Manama, September 27 (BNA) The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, witnessed at the council’s headquarters the signing of a cooperation agreement between government hospitals and the Australian authority. The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health stressed that the revenue cycle system is one of the basic pillars of self-management of government hospitals by enabling hospitals to provide competitive medical services, in line with the health insurance strategy that will enable hospitals to submit claims efficiently and effectively, according to the strategy of the Supreme Council of Health.

For his part, Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Governmental Hospitals, expressed his happiness at signing the agreement, which comes within the framework of the ongoing preparations to prepare government hospitals to deal with the requirements of the National Health Insurance Program and its implementation. Self-management strategy through optimal use of resources to achieve comprehensive health coverage according to the highest levels of quality and efficiency.

The CEO of government hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Al-Ansari, confirmed that the system will contribute to the implementation of the self-management strategy by changing the government hospital financing system from an allocated budget to a competing provider of medical services for the purpose of financing through health insurance claims.

Dr. Al-Ansari indicated that the scope of the agreement includes conducting a comprehensive study of the costs of all medical services provided by government hospitals, stressing on increasing the quality of the medical coding process, as well as ensuring the quality of health insurance claims. , in line with the national health insurance system, including training of personnel and related departments.
