Sharjah, May 9 (BNA) The thirteenth session of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, under the slogan “Ibdaa Ibdaa” will be held on May 11 and 22.
The inspiring conversation series will take place at the Children’s Creativity Café in Hall Six of the Expo Center Sharjah, where the Saudi Center for Scientific Research prepares to educate young people and highlight the unique talents of seven child prodigies in various fields of literary, artistic and scientific creativity. .
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that the Children’s Creativity Café will host nine-year-old Al Reem Al Hammadi, a talented Emirati writer who will inspire and motivate children to read and explore the world around them.
Al Hammadi excels in the arts and creativity, and is the recipient of several awards, including the one presented by the UAE Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Taif Al Dhafiri, a talented story writer from Saudi Arabia who started writing and publishing stories when she was eight years old, will share the secrets of her exceptional talent with the 2022 conference audience. In 2019 Al Dhafiri won the Rashid Bin Humaid Prize for Culture and Science – Children’s Literature category, becoming the youngest winner of this award since its inception.
Award-winning sports champ, Farah Mostafa, from Egypt, will also be hosted at Kids Creative Café. Farah also competes in swimming and volleyball in the Mind Sports series both nationally and internationally, where she ranked third at the World Championships held in Thailand.
Ehsan Ramadan, from Pakistan, 16, recounts his journey when he became the second youngest winner of the IBSF World Billiards & Snooker Championships (IBSF) in March 2022.
Ahsan has been a passionate snooker enthusiast for over a decade and was among only six juniors sent by the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Federation (PBSF) to compete in the event along with 50 other players.
Dubai-based Bangladeshi student Amina Hussain, 12, who has a massive list of extraordinary achievements to her name, won first place in a mental math competition held at Amity University, UAE, when she was just seven years old. She took the title for the second time in 2019. This year, Amina took third and fourth places respectively in the Spelling Bee and Mental Math competition.
The list of talented young speakers also includes Patrick Ngorge Wachira, a 12-year-old CEO from Kenya, who will highlight the importance of preparing children for a technology-enabled future through science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education. Patrick runs an initiative called the PNW Innovations Program that provides free STEM education to disadvantaged Kenyan children who are denied access to basic computer and internet learning.
The Kids’ Creative Café will also host Devi Vaishnavi, a student at the International Indian School of Ajman, who will share her writing journey as a young author and poet.
By the age of 11, the literary talent from India had already published two books, ‘Vampid: The Vampire Virus’ and ‘Heaven Speaks’, as well as a poem called ‘The Promise’. During her talk, Davey will also present her creative book, The Voice.
