Global airline carriers scrap more than 2,000 flights – FlightAware

Washington, Dec. 24 (BUS): Global airlines have canceled more than 2,000 flights so far Friday, the FlightAware website reported, referring to how COVID-19 is affecting holiday travel.

The website showed that as of 8:20 a.m. ET (1320 GMT), 2,028 flights around the world had been canceled, Reuters reported.

FlightAware said 448 cases inside, inside or outside the United States have been canceled so far on Friday.

United Airlines and Delta Air Lines (DAL.N) said Thursday that they each canceled dozens of flights on Christmas Eve, as the outbreak of the Omicron coronavirus affected their flight crews and other workers.
