French Health Minister Olivier Veran said, on Wednesday, that France is at the beginning of a fifth wave of the Corona virus epidemic.
“Several neighboring countries are already in a fifth wave of the Covid epidemic, what we are witnessing in France clearly appears to be the beginning of a fifth wave,” Veran said on TF1 television, adding that the spread of the virus is accelerating.
The Ministry of Health recorded 11,883 new cases on Wednesday, the second day in a row with more than 10,000 new cases recorded. New cases have seen double-digit percentage increases week by week since around mid-October.
