Formula One renews deal with Spain until 2026

Madrid, November 26 (BNA): Formula 1 has renewed its contract with Barcelona-Catalunya for the Spanish Grand Prix until 2026.

F1 said in a statement that as part of the new agreement, track and facility improvements will be made before next season’s race on May 22 2022, Reuters reported.

The statement added that the improvements will include upgrades and improvements related to the department’s sustainability plans.

“I want to thank the promoters and the authorities for their enthusiasm and commitment to preserving Formula 1 in Barcelona…” said Stefano Domenicali, chief executive of Formula One.

MotoGP, the first category in motorcycle racing, has renewed its agreement with the circuit until 2026.

She said the new contract guarantees a Catalan GP place in the 2022 calendar and “confirms that at least two more events will take place between 2023 and 2026”.
