Forever Green Campaign reaches Heritage Village

Manama, Nov. 30 (BNA): In the presence of the Minister of Information Affairs, Dr. Ramadan bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) planted 140 trees and shrubs in the vicinity of the heritage village of Ras Hayyan in Ras Hayyan. Southern Governorate


The initiative was coordinated with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture and the Supreme Council for the Environment, as of the second phase of the national afforestation campaign (Green Forever), with the support of Zain Bahrain.

The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Muhammad Baher, the CEO of Zain Bahrain for Communications and Investor Relations, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Secretary-General of the Nayed, Sheikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, and other officials.


In a statement, Dr. Al Nuaimi affirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting national efforts to preserve Bahrain’s agricultural heritage as part of the national strategy for environmental protection. He said that Bahrain has a rich agricultural heritage and a variety of trees engraved in the national memory, indicating that the Heritage Village constitutes an appropriate site to contribute to preserving these rare species.


He stressed the importance of community partnership and voluntary efforts to support the national approach to protecting the environment and expanding agricultural lands.


Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa affirmed Zain Bahrain’s commitment to support the national campaign for afforestation (Green Forever) as part of its environmental responsibility strategy.

The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NAID) commended Zain Bahrain’s initiative. He also praised the constructive cooperation of the Ministry of Information Affairs in line with the aspirations of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Advisory Council of Al-Nayed.


It is also in line with Bahrain’s environmental commitment to reach zero neutrality by 2060, which was announced by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
