Kuala Lumpur, June 2 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met. Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Kao Kim HornOn the sidelines of his participation in the 20thy session IISS Shangri-La Dialoguein Singapore.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance political and economic cooperation as well as strategic partnership with the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations,he Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (tac) to which Bahrain joined in 2019, indicating its keenness to support the objectives of the treaty represented in promoting regional and international peace and security and enhancing international cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, non-interference in internal affairs and resolving disputes by peaceful means.
The Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance Gulf and Arab cooperation and strengthen political and economic partnership with ASEAN member states. He wished Bahrain more growth and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Asia and Pacific Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Al-Daen.
