New York, September 22 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani met today at the headquarters of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s mission to the United Nations in New York, with the President of the Republic. The International Committee of the Red Cross, His Excellency Mr. Peter Maurer, on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the tireless efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross to assist those affected in various emergencies and disasters in the world. They stressed the importance of cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the International Committee of the Red Cross in supporting the peoples of the world affected by crises and disasters in various humanitarian circumstances.
They also reviewed global emergencies at the present time, efforts to deliver humanitarian and relief aid to those in need, and strengthening the role of health diplomacy.
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations, HE Ambassador Jamal Al-Ruwai’i, and HE Ambassador Sheikha Aisha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa, Acting Head of the Organizations Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
