His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on this occasion, which falls on September 15th, and this year they will focus on the importance of media freedom in democracy.
In this regard, he referred to the government’s efforts to protect press and media freedom and support the media to spread the values of tolerance, coexistence and democracy.
He also emphasized that the National Human Rights Plan (2022-2026) also prioritizes the protection of civil and political rights, including freedom of opinion and expression, the right to vote, freedom of the press and media, the promotion of democracy, and many others.
