Foreign Minister chairs meeting of Higher Coordination Committee for Human Rights

Manama, October 27 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani chaired the meeting of the Higher Coordination Committee for Human Rights today, with the participation of committee members from all relevant government agencies.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the members of the committee, praising their valuable contributions to the protection of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also praised the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to protect and promote human rights and freedoms in the Kingdom of Bahrain.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that the national human rights system in the Kingdom of Bahrain is witnessing continuous development to protect the rights of citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He praised the efforts of the Coordinating Committee members and their contribution to achieving joint cooperation and coordination.


The committee discussed a number of topics on its agenda, including the upcoming report of the universal periodic review of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will be presented at the meeting of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on the seventh of November,

The report of the Kingdom of Bahrain to eliminate racial discrimination, the latest recommendations of the national human rights plan, and a review of the latest national and international human rights reports.
