Foreign Minister chairs High Human Rights Coordination Committee meeting

Manama, Dec. 30 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani chaired the 35th meeting of the Higher Coordination Committee for Human Rights.

He praised the committee’s efforts to promote human rights, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to respect and protect them. Human values, rights and freedoms without discrimination.

He highlighted Bahrain’s recent achievements in the field of human rights, stressing the importance of continuing work and joint coordination between the competent authorities.

The committee discussed a number of topics on its agenda, including the first report of the national plan for human rights, the comprehensive guide to human rights, in addition to reviewing the recommendations of the fourth report of the universal periodic review of human rights.

The committee also proposed decisions on topics and reports on its agenda.
