Foreign Minister attends GCC-Central Asia strategic dialogue

Riyadh, September 7 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani participated in the first joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asian countries. .

The Gulf side was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

At the level of Central Asia, the meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf also participated in the meeting.

Dr. Al-Zayani delivered a speech at the meeting in which he expressed his appreciation for all the efforts made to hold this meeting with the aim of strengthening cooperation and developing relations between the two sides in various fields, and emphasizing the depth of the historical and cultural relations that link the countries and peoples of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asia.

During the meeting, they discussed the friendly relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the countries of Central Asia, and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields and develop common interests for the benefit of their peoples.

A joint statement was issued after the meeting in which the two sides welcomed the inaugural ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue for the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asia, stressing their commitment to establishing a solid partnership between their countries, based on common values ​​and interests, and the deep historical relations between the two countries. their peoples and the cooperation that exists between them at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
