Manama, October 22 (BNA) On the occasion of United Nations Day, Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Khalifa, to continue to cooperate with the international organization to achieve peace and prosperity around the world.
He affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to the principles contained in the Charter of the United Nations in establishing international relations based on mutual respect, non-interference in the affairs of other countries, and strengthening international cooperation to face all challenges.
He referred to the Kingdom’s approach to promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence between different religions, cultures and civilizations, and combating terrorism and extremism.
Dr. Al-Zayani also reviewed the Kingdom’s initiatives in supporting partnership with the United Nations in line with the framework of strategic and sustainable development cooperation, including the visit of Pope Francis, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Al-Tayeb is participating in an international conference on peace and interfaith dialogue and hosting the 18th session of the Manama Dialogue in November.
He also expressed his pride in the contributions of Bahraini diplomats in implementing the Kingdom’s foreign policy and achieving its goals.
