First relief aid shipment delivered to Türkiye

Ankara, Feb. 15 (BNA): In implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Honorary President of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, and under the patronage of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. Chairman of the National Committee for Supporting Earthquake Victims in Turkey and Syria, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the first shipment of Bahraini relief aid has been delivered to Turkey.

The Secretary-General of the Health Care Corporation and the Executive Director of the National Committee for Supporting Earthquake Victims in Turkey and Syria, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed Al-Amin, delivered the shipment with the aim of supporting those affected by the devastating earthquake.

Upon his arrival at Edirne Airport, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed and his accompanying delegation were received by the representative of the Presidency of the Turkish Republic, Ali Yassin Serdar, the Ambassador to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Borko Cevik, and the former President of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), Mehmet Gülöğlu, as well as the staff of the Bahraini embassy in Turkey and a number of Turkish officials.

During the visit, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed conveyed the condolences of the Kingdom’s leadership, government and people to the Republic of Turkey and the families of the victims.

He pointed out that the shipment is in line with the directives of His Majesty the King to extend a helping hand to those affected by the humanitarian disaster.

Dr. Al-Sayed said that the committee is supported by the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Royal Fund headed by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad, stressing Bahrain’s solidarity with it. The Turkish people in the face of the dire crisis.

The representative of the Turkish presidency expressed the thanks and appreciation of his country’s leadership, government and people to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its noble stances, praising the directives of His Majesty King Hamad to provide aid to those affected by the earthquake to alleviate their suffering.

He expressed his country’s gratitude to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its sympathy and solidarity with it in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck it recently.

Ali Yassin Sardar emphasized the depth of the brotherly relations between the two countries, pointing out that Bahrain’s brotherly position is not new as the Kingdom was and still is at the forefront of supporting its brothers in various circumstances.

He stressed that what distinguishes Bahrain most is not only the provision of aid, but also the rapid response and continuous follow-up of its projects.

The Secretary-General of the Health Care Corporation also made inspection visits to a number of earthquake-affected areas, praising the tremendous efforts made by the Bahraini Search and Rescue Team to rescue the wounded and search for the missing as a result of the earthquake.

He also visited the Victims Service Center and immediately assessed his needs. He also met a number of those affected by the disaster and the families of the victims, and conveyed to them the condolences of the leadership, government and people of the Kingdom. Asking the Almighty God to bless the souls of the victims with eternal peace and to bless the wounded with a speedy recovery.

He also emphasized that, based on the directives of His Majesty the King, the King Hussein Cancer Fund launched many initiatives to help those affected by the devastating earthquake.
