Manama, September 26 (BNA) Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa held a meeting with Citibank Group President for the Middle East and North Africa Elissar Farah Antonios and Citi’s Country Officer and Head of Corporate Banking – Citi Bahrain, Michel Sawaya.
During the meeting, which was attended by the CEO of the Economic Development Board, Khalid Humaidan, the minister praised the continuous cooperation for years between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Citibank, which is one of the leading global financial institutions.
He stressed the keenness to support vital sectors to consolidate their contributions to national development, praising the role of the financial and banking sector in strengthening the national economy and attracting investments.
The minister stressed the importance of strengthening partnership and cooperation with international financial and banking institutions to exchange experiences and keep pace with financial technology steps to support national economic growth.
The meeting also dealt with the latest global economic developments and issues of common interest.
