Final stage of National Research Competition for Undergraduate Students to begin on Monday

Manama, February 20 (BNA) under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council and Vice-President of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Sheikha Rana bint Issa bin Daij Al Khalifa, the last stage of the second edition. The National Undergraduate Research Competition starts tomorrow.


The competition is organized by the Scientific Research Department of the General Secretariat of the Higher Education Council, in cooperation with the British Council and the British Embassy in Bahrain.


Among the nearly 150 students who have participated in the Research Skills Training Program since its launch at the beginning of this academic year, 32 students from nine public, regional and private higher education institutions have reached the final stages of this competition. .


The final stages of the competition will include a three-day workshop on the ethics of scientific research, to be conducted by Dr Kate Walker from the University of Sheffield, at the Diplomat Hotel.


After that, the finalists will present their research work before the jury, which consists of a group of Bahraini and British scientific research experts, who will evaluate their work and select the top ten. The winners are then announced on the last day during the award ceremony.


The second edition of the program began last November, when participants were trained by Dr. Walker in scientific research skills. Then they started preparing their research under the supervision of their professors and following up on Dr. Walker.
