Executive, legislature meeting reviews outcomes of Jeddah Summit

Manama, July 18 (BNA): A joint meeting was held today between the executive and legislative authorities to review the outcomes of the Jeddah Summit for Security and Development, in which His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa headed the Kingdom’s delegation, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Finance and National Economy, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Parliament Affairs Ghanem bin Fadl Al Buainain, in addition to the heads and members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was attended by the Defense and National Security Committees of the Shura and Representatives Councils.

In his speech before the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the effective partnership between the executive and legislative authorities in consolidating the development and democracy process in the Kingdom, and supporting its foreign policy and strategic interests in strengthening the pillars of regional and global security and peace, in line with the wise approach. His Majesty the King and government policies led by His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

In the session, he was briefed on the outcomes of His Majesty’s participation in the Jeddah Security and Development Summit, noting that the inaugural speech of His Majesty confirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to unify the Arab ranks in partnership with allied and friendly countries to settle differences peacefully and enhance security. Peace and development.

He pointed out that His Majesty the King called for the establishment of international relations on the basis of mutual respect and rejection of external interference in the internal affairs of countries, as well as concerted efforts to combat extremism and terrorism and free the Middle East of weapons of mass destruction. Strengthening the strategic partnership in protecting international shipping, energy and food security.

He praised the fruitful results of the main summit thanks to the wise leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the agreement of the participating countries to deepen the strategic partnership.

For his part, the Minister of Finance and National Economy praised the key speech delivered by His Majesty during the summit, indicating that it reflected His Majesty’s forward-looking vision on the best ways to achieve regional peace and security.

He praised His Majesty’s call to use modern technology to support global economic growth and price inflation.

He added that the Jeddah summit provided an opportunity to strengthen the deep-rooted strategic relations with the United States of America, praising the pivotal role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in consolidating integration and joint cooperation at the regional and international levels to meet the challenges of regional and global interests. and ensuring peace for all the peoples of the region.

The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee of the House of Representatives, Representative Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Sisi, praised the main speech delivered by His Majesty the King during the summit.

He also highly valued the government’s keenness to inform the legislative authority of the results of the Jeddah summit, which he said enhances continuous effective cooperation between the two sides and supports efforts to enhance security and prosperity under the comprehensive rule of His Majesty the King. development process.

He added that His Majesty’s speech addressed all expectations and challenges, as it focused on the need to strengthen the existing strategic relations with the United States of America, in addition to intensifying collective action to achieve peace and confront challenges.

He reiterated the legislative authority’s support for His Majesty’s call to mobilize all efforts to stop interference in the internal affairs of countries, combat terrorism and free the region of weapons of mass destruction.

The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee of the Shura Council, Faisal bin Rashid Ali Al-Nuaimi, affirmed that His Majesty’s speech reaffirmed the Kingdom’s foreign policy priorities, which are based on cooperation and self-respect.
