England eases COVID-19 rules for international travelers

London, Sept 17 (BUS): England took measures to boost international travel on Friday, scrapping expensive COVID-19 testing requirements for fully vaccinated travelers, scrapping its traffic light system and adding eight countries to its safe list.

British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said travelers returning to England from Turkey, Pakistan and the Maldives will not have to self-quarantine on their return as they are removed from the so-called COVID travel red list.

Shapps also said that under the new offerings, destinations will be simply categorized as low or high risk, rather than red, amber and green, Reuters reported.

“We’re making testing easier to travel,” he said on Twitter.
