Within PwC, our deal service line helps organizations execute successful deals and create value by defining strategy and due diligence for domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, liquidation and subsidiary interest, capital market transactions such as IPOs and debt offerings, bankruptcy and other business
reorganization.
Overview of deals strategy and operations:
Deal Strategy and Operations (DSO) provides strategic and operational advice across the transaction continuum from deal strategy development to post-deal execution. Examples of services we undertake include advising funds on strategic decisions, supporting companies in conducting business due diligence on potential targeted acquisitions, developing business plans and corporate strategies, and evaluating the viability of potential investments. Our team includes a diverse mix of profiles with people with relevant strategic, investment and operational expertise combined with deep industry expertise. Our clients include regional and international corporations, leading private equity firms, family offices, major banks and investment funds, and government agencies.
The Energy, Utilities, Mining and Infrastructure (EUMI) team within DS&O is seeking an experienced Director or Senior Director to work closely with leadership for EUMI sector development, working across a range of deal advisory assignments from commercial/commercial diligence to transaction advisory in joint ventures and alliances.
Responsibilities:
As a Director or Senior Manager within the EUMI team at DS&O, your responsibilities will include:
Oversee the successful delivery of projects, which may include multiple projects simultaneously, while leading a team of 3-4 consultants.
Manage the relationship with the client on a daily basis including other stakeholders.
Structuring and ensuring the development of reports that include
Relevant analysis, findings and recommendations
Support business development efforts across key geographies in the GCC and within EUMI sub-sectors/sectors
Preferred knowledge and skills:
Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or proven track record of success in commercial due diligence or corporate strategy roles, preferably for a global network of professional services firms, private equity firms or corporate organizations, with a focus on the following:
Understand the different facets of mergers, integrations, subsidiaries and/or abstractions, including options analyses and recommendations.
Assisting clients with strategic planning and business reviews; growth, market entry and international expansion; and scaling market opportunities.
Demonstrates broad capabilities and/or a proven successful track record in managing and developing strategic customer relationships while providing the highest quality of customer work across multiple customer projects:
Building strong and collaborative relationships with team members and promoting a productive teamwork environment.
Take an active role in new business development and follow-up activities, including client leadership maturation, proposal development, and closing of new business opportunities.
Achieving significant business results that reflect strategic and creative thinking and individual initiative.
Manage complex projects while serving as a trusted advisor at the highest levels of client organizations.
– Identify and address customer needs: construction, maintenance and utilization
Networking with clients.
Perform quantitative and qualitative analyzes of complex data, including market and competitor analysis (market size, drivers and dynamics), customer analysis and internal analysis (strategic analysis, business model reviews, financial statements).
– Develop high-impact action plans: prioritizing issues that drive the answer,
Develop creative ways to prove or disprove hypotheses and estimate time and resources for business units.
Managing multi-resource engagements: Use action plans to manage day-to-day execution, remove obstacles, and seek help proactively, effectively
– Communicate up, down and horizontally.
Improving business processes: finding proactive standards for implementing engagement, codifying and sharing new ideas.
Providing guidance, direction and guidance for small resource people.
Writing, communicating, facilitating and presenting persuasively. To and/or to all levels of audiences, customers, internal employees and management.
– Compilation of issues for the leadership team.
Manage project workflows and develop proposals, deliverables and reports using Microsoft’s suite of applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
– Multitask and balance time effectively, maintaining a fast pace without sacrificing quality.
– Understanding of advanced analytics and big data preferred.
Minimum years experience required
At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in a strategy consulting firm, private equity, investment fund, or other environments where similar skills have been developed.
education:
Minimum score required: Bachelor’s degree from a first-class university with high grades (top 10% in class and/or above 3.6/4 CGPA)
An MBA from top business schools is preferred, although not necessary
